So I’ll spare you the lecture, here’s what you might not know.
Even if you’re a master saver or you crush debt like champ, building a profitable portfolio can:
Create financial security, peace of mind, and freedom
Lower financial (and emotional!) stress
Produce A Long Term Sustainable Income Source
Allow you to work less; make your money work for you
Even though the reasons to pursue financial independence are obvious, the path to doing it successfully is anything but…
The financial industry is filled with financial jargon and knowing that you need to start growing your wealth is very different than actually doing so.
Picture this - you walk into the bank and make an appointment to speak to an adviser. You tell them that you need to start investing. They say a bunch of acronyms that are extremely confusing and you end up agreeing to invest in what they are recommending.
This is exactly what happened to me at 19 when I went into my bank. What I found out later is that my portfolio didn’t match my long-term financial goals and I was investing in products with ludicrously high fees.
So many women I’ve spoken to over the years have found themselves in the exact same situation. They are disappointed and even shameful that they didn’t know better.
But how could you? We aren’t taught financial life skills in school.
